These New AngelSense Features Will Give You the Peace of Mind You Deserve This Summer

 

Here at AngelSense, we’re special needs parents, too. When we develop new features, they’re born out of a need for solutions to real life problems that we face, and that we know from your messages to us that you face too.

Here are three new AngelSense features that may be particularly useful this summer.  We’re excited to announce our one-of-a-kind new features just in time for summer!

1. AngelCall – Communicate with your child anywhere, anytime

AngelCall, our new two way voice communication feature, turns AngelSense into the world’s first phone for individuals with special needs! Call your child and speak to them at any time without them needing to pick up or click anything. AngelCall is already helping parents bridge the communication gap with their children, both verbal and nonverbal.

How will this help you this summer?

  • You can send your child instructions in real-time to help them avoid dangerous situations
  • Let your child have fun in the park, and then call them back when they wander too far
  • Let your child ride a bike independently and call them back when it’s time to head home
  • Give your child independence and let them take a bus or go to a friend’s house
  • Soothe your child even when you can’t be there
  • Give your child the confidence to explore and enjoy, knowing you’re always there
  • Take your child to water activities and soothe them or keep them safe (the waterproof case will be available in a month)

School year benefit: Use AngelCall to wish your child a good day from the bus, or to start preparing them for the transition back home in the afternoon.

 

2. Indoor Search – Find your child indoors and in crowded locations

Summer vacation means a lot of time out of school, and a lot of time in new places, such as malls. Malls present a lot of anxiety for special needs families, especially with children who have a tendency to wander or who are nonverbal.  AngelSense’s new Wi-Fi search feature allows you to pinpoint your child’s location in a large indoor area, such as a mall. Your AngelSense app will show you the Wi-Fi signals closest to your child. Once you see your child is near, for example, the Gap Wi-Fi, you know to head to the Gap. Autism Daddy tested this feature in a large New York City mall. You can see it in action here.

  • You can take your children for stress-free summer shopping
  • You get peace of mind because even if your child wanders, you can find them easily
  • You get a good sense of your child’s whereabouts at indoor activities

School year benefit: Indoor Wi-Fi is a great way to better see where your child is inside the school building at any given time.

3. Indoor Alarm – Draw attention to your missing child

The Indoor Alarm works in conjunction with the Indoor Search feature and makes it easier to locate your child in a crowded indoor space. Parents can configure the alarm to ring as either a loud alarm or music. Once activated, the alarm will ring when a parent is near their child. This makes it easier to find your child in crowded indoor spaces.

How will this help you this summer?

  • You can find your child easily in indoor spaces
  • The alarm will draw the strangers who may be able to help you find your child

Utilize our new indoor alarm to find your child quickly in a crowd. Indoor alarm will sound from your child’s AngelSense device, allowing you to follow the sound to your child.

School year benefit: Help the pedagogical staff easily and quickly locate your child within the school building.

Coming this summer:

WEARING/SENSORY SOLUTION:

We understand the different sensory needs and sensitivities of different children, which is why we design AngelSense to have unlimited wearing options. We’re now releasing a sensory support undershirt with a built-in AngelSense pocket. The shirt provides sensory pressure and comfort, while comfortably and securely holding the AngelSense device.

School year benefit: Sensory undershirts help improve focus and calm.

WATERPROOF SOLUTION:

Just in time for summer fun, our new waterproof sleeve for your AngelSense device will be released very soon! Visit the beach or pool without compromising on safety.

School year benefit: The waterproof sleeve can be worn at all times for individuals who have a tendency to wander towards water.

The summer is the perfect time to try AngelSense and see if it’s the right solution for your family! Take the tracker with you on vacation, summer camp and other outings.       Hi Kristy,
      The AngelCall feature is already implemented (it’s only compatible with the GPS 2 device) and can be used. If you need to, you should upgrade your app. There are instructions here: http://support.angelsense.com/-NEW-AngelCall/951329541/-NEW-AngelCall.htm

      The other features will be rolled out over the next few weeks!

    Is there an option yet for a locking bracelet style? my grandson has a tendency to “strip” when he takes off or he will change clothes several times thru out the day so any other option really does not help us

    I don’t think I’m able to see every thing due to the plastic cover. I know this is silly, but I haven’t seen anything to show I can take the cover off. Where would I look for this.

      Hi Deborah,
      You shouldn’t take the cover off unless we tell you to do it in order to take the battery out. What are you looking for exactly? The device is not meant to be touched in any way during use.

    Will the inside search and indoor alarm work on the GPS 1?

      Hi Stacy,
      The indoor search and alarm features are not compatible with the GPS 1 hardware. If you are interested in upgrading to the GPS 2 while you are still in contract for GPS 1, we have a special package deal inside the app store.

    I received my GPS2 tracker today and I am a bit confused I push the power button and when the device powers on it asked for a pin number. I don’t know what that number is, and then the screen turns black again. Is the screen suppose to stay on?

      The device will stay off and the black screen is normal. You will control everything from the app.

    Is the undershirt available yet? I do not see it. Which model comes with the waterproof case? Can this be worn while at the beach? And…are these accessories and features available on both units? Which units work in Canada/Ontario?

      Hi Patti,
      Our undershirt will be available to purchase in the near future. We are waiting to have the final confirmation that it’s stocked in our warehouse. At this time we can provide the GPS 1 device for Canada users. It uses the Rogers network for coverage, so if you have good signal strength with Rogers network in your area, then it will work well for you.
